This position will act as a junior application support specialist with the B/OSS Operations team. The candidate will provide technical support as required to supplement the operations and Tier 2 support teams.



  • Responds to telephone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support for billing system issues

  • Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution

  • Ensures that daily processes execute properly

  • Escalates system problems when necessary

  • Implements and maintains operational documentation and procedures

  • Utilizing their knowledge and experience with existing systems, provides technical assistance to other IT staff

  • Issues the daily operations status report and project status reports as required

  • Completes technical projects as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions

  • Will work to establish proficiency in configuring and maintaining at least one of the core systems managed by the B/OSS team (SPNet, IWS, BRM, T-Activate, T-Mediate, Datamart, OpTools, Datawarehouse ETL, Datawarehouse Reports)

  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple activities of various diverse scope from vision through implementation in a cross-functional environment while consistently meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrated competency in thinking beyond direct instructions to developing an operational solution that meets the objective

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills combined with strong ability to build relationships with other teams and individuals

  • Self-starter; ability to work independently

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Good organizational skills; attention to detail



  • Requires some training in computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor\\\'s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Knowledge of scripting tools such as Perl, Shell Scripts preferred

  • Knowledge of PL/SQL preferred

  • Knowledge of Unix System Commands preferred
