The Content Marketing Marketing is responsible for the development of content to support the global marketing and communications efforts of Iridium Communications Inc. Efforts include curating engaging content, online and offline communications, website optimization, managing a content calendar, implementation of marketing communications programs, and developing thought leadership initiatives to elevate the organization’s position in the industry.
The position also requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a strong focus on translating technical content into easily digestible information, drafting and editing marketing copy, and ensuring consistent messaging across a wide range of materials.
Develop content for the organization’s corporate website, intranet, and promotional micro sites. Includes working cross-functionally to establish accurate, standardized materials that represent the Iridium brand voice and positioning. Work with the web team to optimize the organization’s online presence.
Develop compelling product and service focused documents, including case studies, product use cases, and customer testimonials to support all marketing communication objectives. Directly interact with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand complex information and turn it into content that is easily digestible for a wide range of readers.
Produce and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of information across varying audiences and platforms, including a corporate blog, social media channels, web updates, interactive experiences, video scripts, and internal and external communications.
Develop dynamic content for executive presentations, and work with SMEs to create thought leadership pieces with the end goal of driving awareness for the organization and positioning the company as industry experts.
Responsible for creating the messaging for Iridium’s collateral, including the writing and coordination of all promotional documentation including: brochures, marketing slicks, videos, presentations, online marketing tools, sales materials, partner materials, kiosks, etc. Support the Marketing Manager to implement the Iridium brand across all materials in the organization, including but not limited to product packaging, standardized forms, partner communications, and signage.
Assist with the development and implementation of internal communications programs, including communications such as employee newsletters, intranet updates, and quarterly meetings.
Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing and Corporate Communications to develop brochures, sales presentations, training materials, online marketing materials and partner materials.
Manage project schedule for marketing communications programs, ensuring customer expectations are met and projects are completed in accordance to budget, optimizing resources where applicable and producing reports for management as required.
Build strong working relationships with company executives, Marketing/Sales/Business Development Team, vendors, agencies and Iridium partners to promote and integrate marketing communications approach across the organization.
Assist with external communication efforts as needed, including writing, editing and distributing press releases, messaging development, managing executive visibility opportunities and program management.
Strong content creator with excellent writing skills and a passion for storytelling. Ability to change style, tone, and brand voice based on platform and audience.
Knowledge of marketing communications and content development within a business-to-business communications industry.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of SEO writing. Ability to manage Google AdWords and Google Analytics accounts and use data to drive optimizations.
Experience working within a public company, and promoting the organization on a global basis.
Strong organization and time management skills that enable the employee to prioritize and manage a high volume of detailed work with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong portfolio of published or professional samples in a variety of marketing communications and channels. Comfort giving and receiving feedback.
Be a team-player who jumps in with copy when needed; from drafting emails, writing a tweet, creating presentations, or thinking through headlines for a tradeshow booth.
Excellent communication skills to facilitate routine and accelerated work requests, set stakeholder expectations, and thrive when working both individually and collaborating across departments.
Strong personal initiative is required to anticipate business needs in advance of requests received.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
Minimum of five years experience in a marketing communications role within the communications industry.
Five - eight years professional experience in business-to-business or business-to-government marketing communications (preferably in the technology industry).
Experience in managing programs, with a “roll up the sleeves and get it done” approach. Must be able to work independently.
Proven experience with website SEO and keyword optimization, content management software (such as WordPress), writing and proofreading copy, project management, branding, collateral development, sales support and presentation development.
Ability to travel at least 25% of the time (including international travel).
Proven experience in working with senior-level executives and within a Marketing team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and online communications (WordPress, MailChimp, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn). Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, basic knowledge of HTML.
