Description:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration of HR related programs and activities for Iridium’s offices in Arizona. Responsibilities include employment, on-boarding, staffing, compensation, immigration, benefits, legal & compliance, employee relations and other employee related activities and services. This position will also engage in program design and complete HR related projects as assigned by the Vice President, Human Resources.

Duties:

Employment and On-Boarding

  • Prepare and extend offers of employment, gain necessary position and offer approvals, collect and process pre and post-employment paperwork including reference and background checks
  • Prepare and conduct new employee orientation and on-boarding
  • Administer applicant assessment instruments (Predictive Index and Learning Indicator)
  • Manage Company’s Affirmative Action and EEO program by developing and reporting for EEOC compliance
  • Update applicant tracking and EEO data

Staffing and Recruitment

  • Manage Company’s recruitment program to include:
  • New position justification, budget and approval process
  • Direct and monitor creation of job descriptions
  • Source, recruit, interview, and selects candidates (source contractors)
  • Act as point of contact for external postings for EEO compliance

Employee Relations

  • Work with managers and employees on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Minimize Company risk. Investigate internal complaints and matters as required.
  • Provide management guidance as needed (interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, etc.).
  • Research and Respond to employee questions.
  • Prepare employee separation related documentation, conduct employee exits interviews  

Compensation Administration

  • Oversee salary administration and guidelines - initiate paperwork for personnel action requests (changes, promotions, adjustments)
  • Advise management on employee compensation actions
  • Research wage survey requests; determine competitive rates as required for internal and external market comparisons
  • Participate in audits of quarterly equity vesting and RSUs

Legal and Compliance

  • Manage immigration requests, support permanent residence process, H1-B, TN-1 and other immigration and non-immigration visas - liaison with outside immigration counsel as required
  • Meet legal and government reporting requirements, post required notices, ensure internal policies and procedures are in compliance, prepare for government compliance audits
  • Prepare and submit annual mandated reports such as AAP, EEO-1, Vets-4212 and other required reporting
  • Work with outside Vendor to prepare the annual Iridium Affirmative Action plan
  • Track adherence to ACA Employer Mandate including on-going monitoring of number of contractors and staffing agency benefits compliance
  • Respond to outside requests for employee information, verifications, references, subpoenas, court orders etc.
  • Investigate Worker’s Compensation related accidents, prepare report

General Administration

  • Research wage survey requests; determine competitive rates as required for internal and external market comparisons
  • Draft/ revise internal HR polices as needed, respond to policy, procedures and program inquires
  • Draft organizational announcements and other employee communications
  • Streamline department processes and procedures, gain efficiencies through automation, implement improvement initiatives
  • Work on various projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications:

 

  • BA or BS Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in human resources with an understanding across HR disciplines including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations and compliance
  • ADP Workforce Now experience including report generation, table creation, data uploads preferred
  • iCIMS experience including report generation a plus
  • Advanced computer skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with exceptional attention to detail - accuracy a must
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – ability to order competing priorities is critical
  • Strong written skills, ability to draft clear and concise employee communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead process change and improvements
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
