Position Overview:

In this position, you will work with the rest of the accounting team to provide quality financial reporting and administrative support as Aireon transitions from a development stage entity into operations.  The addition of this role to the organization and its focus on GL accounting and the purchasing process will be critical in positioning Aireon’s management team to meet their financial and operational reporting needs as the organization grows. Due to the small size of the organization and our team-based approach to work, you will gain exposure to many accounting areas and will serve as a back-up to other team members within the accounting group, as needed.  

 

Duties:

General Ledger, Reporting and AP duties:

  • Participate in month-end close processes; perform monthly accounting tasks including journal entries, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of portions of the monthly close package.
  • Support the annual financial statement audit and interact with external auditors.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and analysis when required.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, Aireon’s internal controls and the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide supporting documentation, as needed, to the tax department to assist with their preparation of all tax filings.
  • Provide quarterly financial information to investors including account reconciliations, sample selection support, financial statements, etc.
  • Work with all members of the organization to create Purchase Requisitions and Change Orders as needed.
  • Handle internal inquiries regarding Purchase Requisitions timely.

Payroll Duties:

  • Input of payroll data, and processing of semi-monthly payroll using ADP. Validate the output for reasonableness.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding all payroll issues.
  • Record monthly payroll journal entries, vacation and incentive accruals. Administer and track PTO including maintaining accrual schedule.
  • Process annual bonus payroll.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all deductions, 401(k) contributions, attachment of earnings, etc., are reconciled to payroll records and paid on a timely basis.
  • Process year end payroll including W-2s.
  • Assist with annual 401k audit and Workers Compensation audit.
  • Handle Monthly, Quarterly and Annual special reporting requests related to payroll.
Qualifications:
