Responsible for ensuring products manufactured for sale by Iridium, meet high standards for appearance and performance.
Responsible for quality performance of suppliers of Iridium products.
Responsible for assessing performance of suppliers, contract manufacturers and contract suppliers and reporting same.
Works with key organizations inside the company, and with outside suppliers, to insure quality standards are met. Often has contact across a wide span of organizations, from suppliers all the way to end users and customers.
Reports quality performance to senior management, and makes recommendations for ways to improve quality across several levels of management.
Develops continuous improvement plans with both internal organizations and outside suppliers to drive ever-higher performance standards.
Assess, audit, coordinate, manage, schedule and report on the audit and qualification status of all Key suppliers, Contract Manufacturers and critical sub-tiers.
Act as a conduit for coordinating information between key sources of supply and multiple contract manufacturers.
Responsible for coordinating issuance of SCARs and conducting follow up verification and validation of actions taken by suppliers.
Establish and execute strategic quality plans and metrics to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
Communicate monthly status of Product Quality.
Develop, communicate, and deploy systematic processes that drive improvement of Supplier Quality.
Must be able to develop procedural and processing instructions.
Represent the Quality Function for all new product introductions.
Working knowledge of ISO-9001:2008 and AS9100
Working knowledge of ESD control and IPC Workmanship Standards
Working knowledge of statistics and process control techniques
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Working knowledge of relevant government and industry regulations
Must have a strong background with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) implementation with Suppliers.
Must be able to have a methodical understanding of RCA and Cause and Corrective Action
Highly skilled in communicating, both orally and in writing, issues, impacts, and corrective actions
Thorough interpersonal skills required
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must.
Ability to exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Ability to operate with minimum supervision
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent is required.
Five or more years of directly related supplier Quality experience is required.
Eight to ten years’ experience in electronics industry in a Quality function.
Configuration management and Change Management process experience required.
Certified auditor a plus
