Description:

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the management of all employee benefits in the Company. The incumbent will analyze, design and administer programs such as, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans and 401(k). The Benefits Manager develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to the Company and employees.

Duties:

 

Benefits Administration

  • Manage the RFP process and negotiations

  • Manage contract renewal negotiations

  • Responsible for claims analytics and reporting

  • Responsible for benefits plan design modeling

  • Manage all aspects of the benefits plan administration

  • Research and resolve participant benefits and claims issues

  • Manage leaves of absence and ADA accommodation requests

  • Responsible for all benefits plan compliance and reporting

  • Manage all aspects of open enrollment for new hires and annual enrollment

  • Responsible for all employee benefits communications

  • Point of contact for all employee benefits related issues and questions

  • Vendor management

  • Manage Iridium’s Wellness Program and company initiatives (Wellness Champion) 

    Legal and Compliance

  • Meet legal and government reporting requirements, post required notices, ensure internal policies and procedures are in compliance, prepare for government compliance audits
  • Respond to outside requests for employee information, verifications, references, subpoenas, court orders etc.
  • Investigate Worker’s Compensation related accidents, prepare First Report of Injury and serve as point of contact with insurance company

Compensation Administration

  • Oversee salary administration and guidelines - initiate paperwork for personnel action requests (changes, promotions, adjustments)
  • Advise management on employee compensation actions
  • Research wage survey requests; determine competitive rates as required for internal and external market comparisons

General Administration

  • Draft/ revise internal HR polices as needed; respond to policy, procedures and program questions
  • Draft organizational announcements and other employee communications
  • Streamline department processes and procedures, gain efficiencies through automation, implement improvement initiatives
  • Work on various projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
  • BA or BS Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 15+ years’ experience in human resources with an understanding across HR disciplines including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations and compliance
  • ADP Workforce Now experience including report generation, table creation, benefit plan setup and data uploads Advanced computer skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with exceptional attention to detail - accuracy a must
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – ability to order competing priorities is critical
  • Strong written skills, ability to draft clear and concise executive and employee communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead process change and improvements
  • SPHR, CCP, CBP or CEBS certification preferred
