The Public Relations Manager will support the Director of Public Relations and Industry Affairs in the development and execution of the department’s strategic objectives. The PR Manager will consult with line of business leads, marketing, and investor relations in order to help build and maintain a favorable image of the company, and align messaging for internal and external communications. The Public Relations Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing integrated communications and public relations plans and campaigns in collaboration with marketing, and spearheading all media relations activity. To be successful, this person needs to be an excellent writer, skilled at interpreting often highly technical information and identifying compelling and engaging story angles while working in a fast-paced, quick-changing environment. The Company is poised to replace its’ satellite network – the largest commercial satellite constellation in space – with a launch campaign that runs through 2017. The Public Relations Manager will play an integral role in promoting this achievement and its transformative influence for the Company and industry.The Public Relations Manager will serve as a member of the Global Marketing and Public Relations team.



  • Develop a media relations strategy to support three lines of business, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, trade and online media

  • Lead media outreach for the Company to support three lines of business, securing regular briefings as well as those driven by trade shows and events

  • Write compelling content for press releases, byline articles, white papers, board reports and executive presentations

  • Direct media training exercises for both executives, and new and developing staff

  • Develop executive thought leadership strategies that result in high-level placements and exposure for the Company

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to promote products and services

  • Direct the planning and execution of PR events, press conferences and campaigns

  • Participate as a member of the social media team, generating PR-related strategy and content for all platforms

  • Monitor, analyze and report PR results on a quarterly basis

  • Develop media sponsorship strategy and drive key placements



  • BA/MA in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or English required; interest in technology and engineering a plus.

  • Minimum of five-to-seven years of experience in Public relations or a related field required.

  • Proven track record creating and executing Public Relations campaigns on an international level preferred

  • Experience executing high-level placements with print and broadcast media

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills required; experience writing for technical fields preferred

  • Experience launching new products and services preferred

  • Must be self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Computer experience required, with high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Cision PR database

  • Proficiency across all social media platforms preferred, including blogs, Twitter, LinkedIN, Facebook and Instagram.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external customers

  • Event planning experience required
