Description:Ideal candidate will provide temporary Public Relations contract work to a large publically traded company due to heavy workflow; Indefinite End-Date; Potential "Temporary-to-Permanent" Position Opportunity!
Duties:
  • Responsible for managing elements of the Public Relations efforts of Iridium- from program development and implementation to tracking.
  • Build strong working relationships with company executives, Marketing and Sales Teams, vendors, agencies, Iridium partners, editors, reporters, producers and analysts.
  • Communicate company messaging through media relations, analyst relations and speakers bureau programs.
  • Research, write and edit press releases, pitches, captions, backgrounders, talking points, speeches, white papers, articles, Media Briefs, awards entries and Web copy.
  • Manage media inquiries as well as proactive media relations programming (including announcements, launches, creative campaigns, editorial calendar monitoring, rapid response, pitching, etc.).
  • Support internal communications efforts.
  • Manage media loaner/sponsorship program to maximize PR benefits.
  • Manage some vendor and agency relationships.
  • Assist with speakers bureau program including topic development, speaker pitching, logistics, presentation development and related media relations.
  • Conduct audit of/report on competitors' PR efforts.
  • Support Iridium-sponsored and Iridium partner events.
  • Help build customer case study program.
  • Manage PR-related photo and video shoots.
  • Manage PR-related research projects.
  • Help manage Public Relations budgets.
  • Monitor and work with Director to report to senior management the internal status of jobs and due dates.
  • Prioritize and manage high volume of detail work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a team player attitude by being flexible and responsible, as well as being a self-starter.
  • Continuously strive to increase knowledge of company policies and procedures, as well as the mobile satellite services business.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years professional experience in business-to-business and business-to-government public relations and/or corporate communications (preferably in the technology industry).  Experience in consumer public relations a plus.
  • Experience communicating on behalf of a publicly-traded company.
  • Five years experience in managing programs, with a proactive, "roll up the sleeves and get it done" approach.  Must be able to work independently.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, writing, media relations, analyst relations, project management, public relations, vendor/agency management, speakers bureau management, online communications, budget management, presentation development, social media, product publicity and crisis communications.
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time (including international travel).
  • Proven experience in working with senior-level executives and within a Marketing team.
  • Must provide the following professional references:  previous supervisor(s), previous direct report(s) (if applicable), and previous vendor(s) and/or client(s).
