| Description: | Description: The Director of Market Analysis and Pricing will be responsible for analyzing all aspects of Iridium product and service offerings and strategy, including product marketing plans, competitive position, pricing, promotions, customer communications traffic, and distribution. The position is a senior member of the marketing team responsible for analysis and strategy functions. The Director is responsible for coordinating with the analysis and strategy formulation across the marketing team and with other organizations such as distribution management, operations, finance, legal and administration. The Director will be instrumental in developing specific product plans, new products, pricing and internal and external promotional strategies to selected vertical markets and for specific applications and services. Working with the product managers, the director will create specific results oriented action plans based on an efficient mix of market analysis, qualitative assessments from the field and clearly defined success criteria. The Director will also interact extensively with senior and executive management to analyze and set corporate strategy. Responsibilities: - Development of product positioning strategies for all products and services
- Performing competitive analysis as an integral part of marketing strategy and identifying and coordinating effective proactive and reactive plans to support market strategy
- Develop and manage a pricing methodology by performing pricing and elasticity. Develop pricing plans that support market strategy
- Work closely with channel management to support new business development plans through market analysis and pricing strategies
- Perform analysis of customer communications traffic to identify positive and negative trends and new business opportunities. Identify and manage strategies for exploiting identified trends.
- Develop and measure targeted promotional programs and deployment strategies
- Perform feasibility studies for new product pricing and promotions and support development of business cases for product enhancements, extensions and new products
- Define and implement metrics for tracking success of product lines, promotions, distribution efficiencies
- Perform distribution analysis and strategy formulation. Analyze performance and structure of existing distribution channels, measure effectiveness of distribution channels, assess distribution across vertical and geographic markets and Iridium products and services. Identify gaps and action plans to enhance distribution plans
- Develop forecasting methodology and support channel management, business operations and finance in forecasting execution
Requirements: - BS/BA in Marketing, Finance or a business related field. MBA or Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience, with 5 years in pricing and promotion positions.
- Strong preference for experience in the cellular communications industry, wireless or satellite voice products and services
- Experience with competitive, financial, marketing and pricing analysis through statistical modeling
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Internet research
- Demonstrated ability to proactively build and manage relationships through effective interpersonal and relationship skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Strong communicator (Oral, Verbal, and Written) with ability to persuade individuals and groups
- Strong organizational and time management skills; Strong project management skills
- Ability to multi-task, results driven, strong sense of ownership; strong sense of urgency; ability to improvise and solve complex problems and manage with minimal supervision
- International travel experience is preferred
- Proficiency in English is required and one or more languages is preferred e.g. Spanish
