Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position requires individual to assume both project responsibilities and program responsibilities.

Project Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Project documentation including schedule, budgets and Project plans.
  2. Define processes required for project/programs.
  3. Coordinate project team and resolve team conflicts to ensure project team works together.
  4. Lead project teams to fulfill project mission and meet program goals.
  5. Updated and maintain schedules and plans (get updates from leads and integrate into schedule).
  6. Update and maintain Budgets.
  7. Report schedule/budget issues to the program manager or Sr. Management as required.
  8. Define, update and maintain metric data for projects.
  9. Maintain shared directory making sure all documents that need to be there are there and up to date.
  10. Follow-up on action item program meetings ( this could go below).
  11. Provide Coordination between the technical teams, systems engineering, manufacturing, and marketing.
  12. Resolve Schedule or budget issues.
  13. Hold program meetings and ensure meetings meet program process.
  14. Coordinate alpha and beta testing for product releases.
  15. Review test results and coordinate correction of issues through the testing phase.
  16. Lead CCB and coordinate meetings and ensure identified anomalies are covered in test plans.
  17. Work with manufacturing on development and transition to manufacturing.

Program Responsibilities:

In addition to the Project responsibilities above this position also has the following programmatic responsibilities.

  1. Plan and coordinate activities relating to Service launch.
  2. Coordinate and plan with marketing the launch of the service.
  3. Manage Vendor and coordinate the development of Satellite software modifications required to support a new or modified service.
  4. Manage and coordinate the modifications or development of GW hardware or software to support the new service.
  5. Coordinate the various segment development efforts to ensure they meet the service level requirements and business schedule.
  6. Responsible for approval and management of the Program budget.
  7. Coordinate all launch activities including distribution, GW, SV development, Marketing efforts.
  8. Run Alpha and Beta test trials.
  9. For external programs coordinate with the customer point of contact as required.
  10. Ensure all contractual commitments are included in the program plan
  11. Contribute to proposal development.
  12. This position requires travel. 

Requirements:

  1. BS Degree
  2. PMP certification
  3. Ten or more years experience in project management of technical project teams.
  4. Excellent speaking and writing skills.
  5. Advanced understanding and skill in the use of Microsoft tools such as Word, Project and Excel.
  6. Leadership qualities and experience leading multi-discipline, multi located teams.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  8. Hardware or Embedded Software design experience desirable.
